Health and Safety

Benchmark Building & Refurbishment Limited is committed to providing a safe working environment for our staff, clients and others.

All our projects undergo a specific Risk Assessment and Method Statements are produced to identify the potential hazards and record the procedures we have put in place to limit and manage the risks.

In addition to the wealth of practical trade skills, we have the expertise in construction management such as project planning, Health and Safety management, CDM management and the Building Regulations to help guide you through the pitfalls of your refurbishment project and keep you legal and compliant.

Our commitment to Health & Safety is backed up by our accreditations and memberships with the following industry recognised governing bodies.

  • Chas

The Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme is a government backed body dedicated to completing Health and Safety assessments to a nationally recognised and accepted threshold standard. We are proud to be accredited members of the CHAS scheme underlining our commitment to Health and Safety in the Construction Industry.

  • Constructionline

We are registered on Constructionline; the UK's largest pre-qualification register for contractors and consultants. This assures our clients that we meet a set criteria and reduces the need of further assessment.

  • CRB

All of our employees are regularly CRB checked. The Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) helps employers in England and Wales make safer recruitment decisions.

  • CSCS

All of our employees are required to hold a current CSCS card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme). CSCS was set up to help the construction industry to improve quality and reduce accidents.

  • IOSH

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the only Chartered body for health and safety professionals recognised worldwide and well renowned in our industry. Our managers are qualified to 5 day “IOSH Managing Safely” standard, emphasising our commitment to working safely.
